ginger Mint daiquiri

This is a small variation on the daiquiri. I added ginger mint, to add another layer of flavor to this classic cocktail. Using fresh herbs that I grow in the community garden near me. It is a signature of mine. Using fresh herbs enhances the flavors of any dish or drink. It adds a layer of flavor and makes whatever is being cooked or drank a more cohesive ecosystem. The ginger mint in this drink enhances the fresh lime juice, which also enhances the rum. The daiquiri is so light it's almost too easy to drink.

The Goods:

1 .5 oz white rum

.5 oz simple syrup

.5 oz fresh lime juice

1 oz fresh ginger mint leaves

The Method:

  1. In a cocktail shaker, add the rum, simple syrup, lime juice, and ginger mint leaves.

  2. Add ice to the shaker and the top. Make sure it is tightly shut.

  3. Shake the cocktail mixture for roughly 10 seconds.

  4. Strain with fine mesh strainer into a coupe glass. Garnish with fresh mint leaves.
